নবীন বরণ | नवागत समारोह | Freshers’ Welcome Ceremony

নবীন বরণ, or Freshers’ Welcome, holds profound spiritual, cultural, and social significance in the Indian educational landscape. Rooted in the ethos of guru-shishya parampara (teacher-disciple tradition), this solemn ceremony transcends a mere formality, symbolizing the sacred initiation of students into the pursuit of knowledge. Spiritually, it echoes the Indian belief that learning is a divine journey, often beginning with prayers, lamp lighting, or invocations to Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom. Culturally, it reinforces values of respect, humility, and the collective joy of new beginnings—drawing from age-old traditions of welcoming guests (atithi devo bhava) and nurturing community bonds. Socially, নবীন বরণ fosters a sense of belonging and inclusion, as senior students, teachers, and administrators come together to embrace the newcomers, easing their transition and encouraging a collaborative spirit. Thus, the ceremony serves not just as a welcome, but as a ritual that affirms learning as a shared and sacred endeavor.

All newly admitted students (Classes 1 to 10) along with their parents, are expected to be at the campus by 9:30 a.m. on Friday, 02 May 2025. Recommended Attire: white kurta/pajama for boys and white salwar/kameez for girls. Mothers are encouraged to wear red-bordered sari for the occasion. Fathers can wear kurta/pajama of any colour.
